At Early Years Resources we have gathered together a range of special education needs (SEN) supplies and teaching resources suitable for use with children with special educational needs. These teaching SEN resources will assist with inclusion in the early years and primary classroom environment.

We offer a range of special educational needs teaching resources suitable for children with emotional needs that are ideal for developing confidence and for helping children talk about their feelings. We also have a selection of resources for children with behavioural needs such as individual sticker charts, emotion stones and an exclusive Fidget Pack for children who find it hard to sit still. Our timers are great visual aids for keeping children focused on the task at hand, and for Time Out sessions.

Our multi sensory resources offer children the opportunity to explore using their sense of touch, hearing and smell, as well as sight. We have balls and play dough that have different smells, noisy balls, braille alphabets, instruments, sound blocks and blackout sheets. We also sell Playfoam, Instant Snow, Messy Goo and Kidfetti which are all interesting tactile resources with a variety of textures.

We have a huge range of products perfect for developing gross motor skills and fine motor skills (see also our Active Play and our Fine Motor Skills sections). These will help children with balance, hand eye coordination, cutting skills, tracking, pincer development and pre-writing skills; a vital addition to our special education needs resources range.

For children needing extra support with speech and language development we have an extensive range of photocards to encourage discussion. We also have mirrors, microphones, Toobaloo phones, games and a talking photo album all available within our special education needs resources range. For ideas on how to introduce sensory play to SEN children, read our blog which goes through the best sensory play activities for special needs

To help support children with writing difficulties we have a writing slope, pencil grips, word spacers and resources designed to aid formation of letters and numbers. For those children with Dyslexia, or who are struggling with reading, we also have coloured reading rulers.

To help develop mathematical skills, we have a range of SEN Maths resources including magnetic learning numbers, sensory beads, number line mat, interactive numicons and more!

We have included a visual timetable and picture pockets for children that need visual cues (such as those with Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome).

To refine your search when looking through our SEN supplies and teaching resources range, we recommend that you take a closer look at our special needs visual resources. In addition to this, we would also advise that you also view our range of special needs speech and language resources.
